This is just for all those people Googling for a solution to your PC hanging in safe-mode on btkrnl.sys, here's a solution:

1.Restarted windows on "last known good configuration".
2. Removed Widcomm Blutooth drivers (I never used Bluetooth).
3. Removed VMWare Player
4. Reboot

Now I have a happy PC.
